I led the project in close collaboration with a cross-functional team, bringing a collection of 19 appliances to market in 2019.

Each product earned the Tested for Life in Canada badge, achieved customer ratings above 4.5 stars, and delivered more than $12M in annual sales in the first year alone. The program established a strong foundation for multi-year growth in Canadian Tire’s owned brand portfolio.

2 & 4 Slice Even-Heat Toasters

Benchmarked against the best in the industry, these toasters deliver consistent, even toasting and have remained among the top sellers in the appliance program.

12 Cup Coffee Maker

The 12-Cup Coffee Maker presented an early challenge due to vendor quality issues that required a full product update. After user feedback analysis, extensive product testing, and tooling improvements, it was successfully relaunched in 2024 with all issues resolved.

Microwaves and Toaster Oven

These products presented the greatest UI/UX challenge. The limited screen size, numerous functions, and tight cost targets pushed the team to design an intuitive and efficient interface that balanced usability with manufacturing constraints.

Motor Appliances

We partnered with the best overseas factory to design and develop 6 world class appliances. We launched blenders that could go toe to toe with Vitamix, and immersion blenders and hand mixers that had better performance than Breville.

Quick Drain Deep Fryer

Another team member led this project, and I had the opportunity to mentor them through their first full design and development cycle for a kitchen appliance. The final product became the first Paderno appliance to surpass $1M in annual sales and remains one of the program’s top performers.

6 Quart Slow Cooker

This project started with some concerns as the vendor needed guidance to meet our performance and specification standards. With collaboration and persistence, the final product became the best-selling slow cooker in the category and one of the top performers in the Paderno appliance line.

Variable Temperature Kettle

Six years later, I still use my Paderno Kettle daily for my morning tea. It boils quickly and continues to look great on the counter.
